The first thing you need to do is focus on your stories rather than the feed. IG are pushing stories the stories out to more people. But you shouldn’t post any less than 4 stories, and probably no more than 8 to keep you followers interested.
They are also releasing augmented reality story filters. These are like the snap chat filters where it scans your face and you add a filter to this, bunny ears etc. This can create 3D effects in your posts and stories which looks so creative. It’s a really good idea to push yourself out of your comfort zone and get your face into your stories.
Instagram will be focusing on the explore tab more and more. So if you’re using strategic hashtags and engaging strategically this will work really well for you.
Always use sound in the stories but you should always caption your stories for when people don’t/can’t have the sound on. Use music in the background if it’s appropriate.
They are also rolling out branded stickers. The usual stickers will be much easier to brand which is great news for those of you who like to keep your stories absolutely on brand!
There is a new feature which is direct purchasing with ‘checkout’. Your followers will be able to tap on your feed and be taken straight to the product to purchase on your website.
There will be more focus on authenticity and nano influencers. The big brands are looking more towards the smaller influencers to help with their marketing.
The TikTok Influence is massive. It’s really really advisable to get yourself an TikTok account. Just keep the name there so you can explore in the future. Or go out and start making videos! You never know, you might enjoy it!
Another focus is on Social Activism. This community is moving towards IG. You will see more talk of IG in the media rather than Twitter. Means that app will become busier so stay strong in your stories as these will always appear on your followers feeds.
You’ll also be pleased to hear that there will be less Bots. IG is getting wise to it and are cracking down on it which is great news for those of us who are trying to grow our accounts organically.
